The hooks are strong and great for hanging something on a refrigerator. However, they can scratch fridge's paint if you move it a bit (and that can happen any time you use it). A piece of a soft cloth for the backing could solve that problem, so I will add it myself. I am not reducing my rating of the product for that because it looks like attaching the hooks to the fridge is not their intended use but rather is a bonus.
